Berkshire Credit Union

A credit union is a not-for-profit community institution which is owned and controlled by its members, who are the people who save and borrow with it.  A credit union enables people to save small amounts of money and access affordable loans, paying back what they owe over a time period that is tailored to suit their own circumstances.

The Berkshire Credit Union is fully regulated in the same way as banks. It helps members by:

  • allocating money for regular bills
  • finding ways to save a little each month
  • providing a pre-paid Visa card
  • offering affordable loans at fair interest rates.

Over two million people in the UK are now members of a credit union. This can often provide a vital alternative to payday or doorstep lending and loan sharks.

If you live, work or study in Berkshire or the surrounding area and think you would benefit from joining the Berkshire Credit Union, please visit the web site at: https://www.cslberks.org.uk/ or make an appointment to chat to one of the volunteers on a Monday morning or at other centres in Bracknell on other days.
